2010 Charity Project for Casa Paloma
We painted tote bags and delivered them to Casa Paloma. Emily from
Channel 4 was there along with 3 social workers for Casa Paloma. The
ladies loved the bags but were a little shy about being on camera (some
avoided it) - the favorite things were the hats, perfume and especially
the chocolate. The chocolate Santa's with caramel filling were the first
to go! They were very excited about the bags and that someone had taken
time to paint something especially for them. They were also very excited
about the amount of stuff inside. Thesocial/case workers were also very
appreciative of the free publicity as there are still lots of things on their wish
list for the organization.
2008
Brushes were flying in Nicole Federico's 4th grade class at Vesey Elementary when our guild ladies
went to help students paint. The students were enthusiastic painters as they worked on a
frame to give as a present for their family this Christmas. Also many personal “thanks” were received
from kids who received our boxes at the beginning of the school year. But perhaps the
best time of all was had by our “Happy Helpers:” Shirley Wahlstrom, Joellen Paredes, Connie
Baldwin and Dreda Young. What a fun way to help out in our community!
